Include your browser version, Waypoint version, and what you expected to happen. Do not send passwords, browser exports, selected passages, or GRN credentials.

Waypoint cannot find a tab

  1. Open Waypoint and clear the search field.
  2. Select the all-windows scope if the tab is in another browser window.
  3. Press Refresh.
  4. Confirm the tab is in a normal window. Waypoint does not operate in Incognito.

Connect to GRN does not complete

  1. Start Connect from Waypoint rather than opening the authorization page directly.
  2. Allow the two exact GRN origins when Chrome asks.
  3. Complete the GRN approval page, then return to Waypoint.
  4. If you declined the request, start Connect again to create a fresh approval.

Local tab search and recovery continue to work without a GRN connection.

A passage did not save

  1. Select between 1 and 400 characters on a normal HTTPS page.
  2. Choose Capture passage to GRN from the page context menu.
  3. Review the source, project, and optional note.
  4. For a possible source match, confirm the match separately before saving.

Waypoint never queues a failed capture automatically. If the network is offline or GRN cannot verify the source, try again after the connection is restored.

Export or remove local data

Open the Waypoint side panel, select Library, then use the Data and privacy controls to export local data. Clear Local Trail separately from legacy recovery sets. Recently closed recovery expires after seven days; recognized Local Trail entries expire after 30 days.

Disconnecting clears the local GRN session but does not delete sources or passages already saved in GRN Desk. Remove those records in GRN.

Permissions

Waypoint uses narrowly scoped browser permissions for tab finding, local storage, its side panel, explicit GRN authorization, one-time source checks, and the user-invoked passage action. It has no browser-history, clipboard, cookies, incognito, or standing research-site access.
